The Court of Owls arc was recommended to me by name. Still, Court of Owls Volume 1 wasn't anything special. Like many comic book stories, all Volume 1 served to do was introduce new characters that apparently existed all along but just…

I liked it for a lot of reasons and disliked it for a couple more. But then I stayed up till midnight reading it, so it wasn't not-readable? Some mixed feelings with this one.

Great story! Even though the Court of Owls are a new addition to Batman's rogues gallery they fit in perfectly. I only hated how the other villains looked like; Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, etc.

Fantastic reboot of the world of Batman. Scott Snyder does an excellent job of showing us the gritty and hidden world of Gotham City.
Bats discovers a hidden society that is controlling...well, everything, frankly: The Court of Owls. …

Greg Capullo doesn't know how to frame a shot, doesn't know how to control the 'camera' and as a result, his artwork is confusing when he wants it to be mysterious, crowded when he wants it to be intense, and obtuse when he's just framing…

A new look at the Dark Knight by Scott Snyder and long-time Spawn artist, Greg Capullo. This has turned out to be a runaway hit for DC Comics and this first volume introduces an evil organization called The Court of Owls to Batman's…
One of the best comic books I have ever read you get the feeling that this is the more arrogant batman and that he won't believe in nursery rhymes and the supporting characters added depth to the story

Creepy villains and equally creepy writing are the highlights of the book's early pages. You quickly get the sense that things are serious and this creative team means business. The series's overarching premise -- a shadowy conspiracy has…

As usual Batman brings out the best in writers and artists. He is visually the most compelling of all the superheroes and he fits perfectly in his natural environment, the multiform Dark of Gotham. I realize Batman is a costume fantasy,…

This is probably one of the best Batman comics I have read.It kept to the rough attitude of Bruce Wayne and has a really good plot. I especially enjoyed when Batman goes HAM on the owl people.

There is common consensus that this volume [1] is very engaging! The artwork, the storyline creates a unbeknown secret society menacing not only Gotham - but its protector, Batman. Now we need to anxiously wait for volume 2 to be printed…

One of the few corners of the DC universe not overly affected by the reboot. Snyder and Capullo introduce a secret society, a group of malevolent villains with Batman in their sights. The writing is outstanding, and Capullo does a fine job…

Beautiful writing, gorgeous art-- Capullo was such a find for me. I'm glad that DC applied few changes to the Batman universe, though I can't say the same for the rest (Superman, Flash...)

Scott Snyder Has really got it going on. Is he totally getting into Batman, or is the Bat getting into him. And the Art! Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion, YAY! Gorgeous and tight. Gotham has been waiting for this Triad.
Really scary stuff. The whole thing about Batman in the labyrinth was like really creepy an the owl guy is one of the scariest villains in the bat-mythos.
