if you are into transgressive or disturbing books this is the book for you. This book is about a pedophile, Celeste Price. Celeste becomes a high school teacher so she has access to teenage boys. She knows her sexual deviancy is wrong but…

I couldn't get through the first chapter. It reads like a man writing a woman. It didn't seem natural. I knew I was going to be uncomfortable but it was just awkward and hard to read. Clumsy, as well.

This book is not going to be for everyone. Really. Read what this is about before diving in and decide if this may be for you or not. OK, now that that's out of the way I want to say I really enjoyed this novel. I was on the edge of my…

A (ahem) pretty disturbing story that is essentially the female version of Lolita and definitely feels like a fictionalized account of Mary Kay Letourneau. It's upsetting, to be sure, but it's also an interesting examination of how we view…

Tampa is probably one of the most f'd up books I've ever read in my entire life. If you've ever wondered what goes on in the mind of a sexual predator, here's your chance - and regardless of the argument that these boys were willing…

Contrived, but entertaining.

Reading this book made me feel uncomfortable in the same way that I did when I read Lolita. Getting inside the mind of a calculated pedophile is scary, and were not used to thinking of women as pedophiles. Right after I read this, I…

This fictional book made me very uncomfortable. Nutting takes you inside the mind of a female pedophile who is a middle school teacher. The teacher talks about how she chooses her victims and why she likes them.

Wow. This book is all kinds of messed up, but totally enthralling. The protagonist is like a cross between Humbert Humbert from "Lolita" and Patrick Bateman from "American Psycho." You are in there with all her messed up thoughts and…

I am fairly open minded when it comes to subject matter of novels or movies. But for some reason I just couldn't finish reading this book. It wasn't the subject matter, but I think probably the main character herself turned me off. I…

I like that the author gives no explanation as to why Celeste is a pedophile. I think that's the point, its just the way she is. In a way, I feel sorry for Celeste that her desires are forbidden and illegal. I mean the boys she likes are…

Hilarious, ribald, raunchy, and a real hoot! I read it in one evening and admired the author's boldness. Funny!

I did not find anything disturbing or uncomfortable about this book. Yes, it is quite excplicit, but I thought it was an interesting and exciting story. I admired Celeste for pursuing her passions; she was a very strong character.

Not for the faint of heart, pretty much every review you're going to read about TAMPA contains the word "controversial". This explicit. gut-punch of a novel revolves around Celeste Price, a pretty, blonde, young - and sociopathic - teacher…
