This story is neither fish nor fowl. The relationship struggles between the parents; their sexual tension and his writer's block and drinking indiscretions might be of intereste to an older readership but the pueril search for the evil…

I loved this book. It seems long but once you start reading it is captivating. I liked how it alternated between the real world and the story world. There were alot of surprises and I absolutely loved the ending. Great book.

This novel is honestly one of the best I've ever read. It was very engaging and lifts the reader away, I could not put it down! I think Robert J Wiersema is a brilliant, inspiring genius. You will not regret reading this book!

The first section was great, a real pageturner. Then the story got bogged down. I wanted more of the fantasy storyline (and possibly some flashbacks to the life of Lazarus Took), less of the modern day, more of the son's story, less of the…

Started off with promise but became juvenile. Disappointing. I soldiered through and was not rewarded.

I found the concept to be a bit of a stretch at the beginning and yet the writing draws you into the story. I was captivated.

This is a book that fluctuates between reality and fantasy. A young boy has a siezure while reading a mysterious book and gets pulled into the fantasy story of the book, leaving his body in a catatonic state. His father begins to unravel…

I really liked this book, the topic is so different from anything else that I have read. I found that I couldn't put it down once I started. Plus, I love to see such a talented writer coming from the Island!

Chris Know is working on his second book, which is taking far too long. He makes a living as a columnist for the Vancouver Sun. His son David has just turned eleven, and Chris finds a book in a used bookstore to give him for a gift. The…

Enjoyed reading this story. The ending became a bit complicated and perhaps could have used more explanations for me, but overall it was an easy read, a good escape, and decent characters.
