Emma and Adam are life-long friends who almost ruin everything by having sex one morning. To protect their friendship, they make a pact to keep their relationship strictly 'no strings attached.' That means no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, and no baby voices. They can do whatever they want, whenever they want, wherever they want, as long as they don't fall in love. The question becomes: who's going to fall first? And can their friendship survive?

This movie is about lifelong friends who eventually decide to get intimate, and make an agreement that they will stay friends and expect nothing of each other while continuing to get physical. As always, what starts off as “friends with benefits” always ends up with a couple of friends in love. This movie narrative is kind of tired in my opinion since it never really brings anything new, but I guess that it does feel relatable to many audience members. I would rate this movie 2.5/5 stars and recommend it to those who just generally like romantic comedies.

I'm a sucker for Natalie Portman but the real reason I am commenting is to give credit where credit is due. The fact that they had Aston Kutcher's character make a "Period Mix" is pretty funny. Re-watched this recently with my wife only for that gag and we both still chuckled.

This movie came out around the same time as Friends with Benefits which had a similar plot. Friends with Benefits was better and this one is just white noise in the romantic comedy genre. Not terrible, but not something that is a much watch.

Got through the first twenty five minutes and realized pretty quickly the movie wasn't very funny and did not have an interesting story to tell. I always assumed movies with Ashton Kutcher in them should be funny at least for light and easy entertainment, but No Strings Attached along with What Happens In Vegas have both shown me this assumption has so far been wrong

I couldn't even watch half of it. They try to make Natalie Portman quirky by having her mention her sex past with Ashton Kutcher in front of her mom at her father's funeral. I just couldn't continue.

Surprisingly, not too bad. At times a bit cliche, but flips a few assumptions on their heads. I've become something of a Liz Meriweather fan, as a result. Who knew?

This is a good romantic comedy. Good chemistry between the two leads. Witty. Doesn't fall into usual cliches. Likeable cast. Good for laughs and story takes some unexpected turns before a too sweet ending. Better than it's clone Friends With Benefits.

Just ok. Kinda predictable. I didn't really like Natalie Portman's character. Some funny parts but overall sort of dull.

I really liked this movie. It wasn't your typical corny traditional rom-com. It was more realistic. The scenery, the background music the, acting was good. I would have liked to see more of a bonding between the two leading characters.
It was pretty clear from the beginning that one of them was already in love with the other, so there was no magical "I'm in love with you all of a sudden" moment which I liked. But I'm not sure why the movie is rated R they didn't show anything really sexual.
