Mercedes must not had as much input in this novel ---- lots and lots of battle strategy and not enough character involvement. well written - not one of my favorites of her books

The story really pulls you in and the Unicorn throne becomes the heartbeat of the tale. I can't wait for more!

This book picked up steam and interest as it progressed. The final third were very fine and laid out clearly the price of power, even when it is intended to be used for good. Vielissiar is a three dimensional character. I enjoyed this very much and look forward to the next book, as there obviously will be one.
