Average story with sad overtones. Long, tired scenes, even tragedy feels laconic.

Imagine not really liking the one inescapable thing you are good at and having nothing else to live for. This is about putting a brave face on a slow descent into despair. It is long and leaves you with a trapped feeling, not catharsis. I liked it in an existential way, although I did fall asleep a couple of times.

Showcases French Canadian talent in film making with a subtle capacity to reveal deep and difficult emotions of sadness, guilt and grief in normal family life and aging.

An intimate portrait of life in a depressed Quebec town. A look at how economic stagnation can effect an entire community. The depressing and slow-moving tone was intentional I think but at times it was difficult to sit through. Definitely doesn't make me want to become a car salesman anytime soon.

If you are a fan of Euro or Quebec style films, its fine: depicts plain life in a small town in Quebec, and its an unexpected tragedy.
