Sequel to: "The Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club" a.k.a. "Divas don't knit".
"A year after her husband's death, Jo Mackenzie is finally starting to get the hang of being a single parent. The boys are thriving, the wool shop is starting to do well and despite two weddings, an in-school knitting project and Trevor the Wonder Dog coming to stay, she's just about keeping her head above water. But boys, babies and best friends certainly make life a lot more interesting. Can Jo cope when things get really complicated? Because if knitting truly does keep you sane when your life starts to unravel then it looks like Jo is going to need much bigger needles."--Back cover.

Great book! I don't usually smile or laugh outloud during reading but this was a very enjoyable book.

This is quite a warm and engaging book. I picked it up by chance (ie in a pile of recommendations DanniOcean) and I'm glad I did.

I was surprised to find partway through reading that this was the second book of a trilogy (book one being The Beech Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club). Happily, you don't need to have read the first book to enjoy this, although I've now added Beech Street Knitting Society to my "For Later" shelves, since I enjoyed this one so much.

You can tell by the titles that this series focusses on knitting. Knitters will love the series for the tactile descriptions of yarn and the LYS. Non-knitters, though, will be pleased to know that the book has a cozy plot set in small-town England that is quite enjoyable and doesn't require the reader to understand k2 yo ssk or other lingo. There are elements of romance to the story, but the book is not a romance per se, and the book really does focus more on the heroine's rebound after the death of her husband. This was a nice, warm read that went by quickly and (thankfully) made me want to get at my Christmas knitting.
