“The General and The Stork” is the actual translation of the title, which fits this amusing comedy better. A widowed father—who has a 4 a.m. nightly meeting with his coffee-loving dead wife to discuss the challenges of raising two teenagers—also faces an unhappily married business partner, his daughter’s unwitting sex video, a son seriously bored by school but enamored of environmental activism, a duplicitous lawyer, and finally, the possibility of a second chance at love with a financially strapped artist who hilariously personifies career persistence. There’s a charming loopiness that threads through this film, with a more serious note added by Garibaldi’s statue, overlooking this neighborhood as he muses philosophically about how Italy has lost its sense of community and vision.
Giuseppe Battison is a scene-stealer, playing the artist’s landlord, a rumpled, quote-spouting slacker/agitator who “meets cute” during a shop lifting spree (“Eh, these products were expired, you were going to throw them away anyway!”) with the teenage son, Elia, an activist who is trying to save a tamed stork.

It is OK! While acting and story are good and there are a few comedic moments.., it's not really a Comedy! Amusing, would be more accurate! At the beginning, and periodically, we hear the Statues talking! It was strange and I did not care for this phenomenon! This idea could have been presented differently in a more palatable way!
The Italian Song in the credits is soulful and beautiful!
You may want to give this quirky film a try!
