By far my favourite of the series translated into English so far. Actually it is in the form of two stories rolled into one - it seems strange at first and you might think that something has gone terribly wrong. Not only are the "viewpoints" in each story different but the writing style is completely different too, so it is as if you are reading two completely different novelizations of the same situation. It all works comes to a very satisfying conclusion however.

Akunin is a great story teller!
I'd compare him with Conan-Doyle.
