What a bunch of lucky kids! Imagine. Your parents announce to you that you're going on a world tour. Yeah, just like that. The same afternoon you're going to be on your way to the airport!
That's what happens when Babar and his wife take their children country hopping to Russia, Egypt, Mexico, and France. To Italy, to Cambodia, to India. Oh and to more countries than that.
You will be dazzled by Babar and his wife's knowledge of languages, customs and ability to talk to elephants in India (who dress very magestically indeed). I guess they know Hindi. Not surprising since they can know "Si mangia bene! / The food is good" in Italy and "Dos vee done ya / Good bye" in Russian.
When you're not learning these interesting things about the lands they travel and how they experience it, you'll be marvelling at the scenery of these countries and cities depicted in the book's illustrations.
Hop on for the ride on Elephant One as it whisks them across the world and enjoy the much craved Ping-Pong at home by the end of the book.
