"The governor of Wyoming gives Joe the thankless assignment of taking a tech baron on a hunting trip. Unbeknownst to them, as they trek further into the wilderness, a hunter is hot on their heels. Joe must rely on his wits and his knowledge of the outdoors to protect himself and his charge. Meanwhile, when Joe's closest friend Nate Romanowski and his own daughter Sheridan learn of the threat to his life, they follow him into the woods to rescue him, and all three come together for one final showdown." -- Amazon.

Add a CommentFirst week of March 2021 and this title leads the holds lists in public libraries across the U.S. A hunting trip where you turn out to be the hunted rather than the hunter.
I had an advanced reading copy of this and it was a wonderful read. Read it in one sitting. Joe is forced to guide rich man who created a new app like Facebook, on an Elk Hunt. What could possibly go wrong. Always great when Nate and Sheridan and Mary Beth become involved. Wonderful visuals - I could see it all clearly.
I haven't read it yet--hard to comment on it without reading it--I agree with hooperswish--its a Joe Pickett novel, what's not to like, on the other hand, I also agree with romale in that it would be nice if there was an intro to the book to give the reader an idea of the plot--frankly, for me, I would like to have more Pickett novels with his kids included
Who cares if there isn't a description? Its the next Joe Pickett!
Seriously, go back and read book 1 and go from there.
Terrific series. I look forward to every March for the next book in the series.
If the CPL site doesn't have a description, you can go to amazon.com; it has the description. Also, if it's a C.J. Box Joe Pickett novel, you know it's going to be good.
Awful, where is short description of the book. How would you know if you want to place a hold?
Agree with Sandy M.
It would be nice if the books on order mentioned if e-books were included, and let us reserve them like the print books. Thanks! I really enjoy the ability to check out books electronically, specially during the pandemic.
