Three couples in different stages of their relationships are forced to reevaluate themselves and each other when the issue of prenuptial agreements come into play. Ellie, married to her husband Michael for several years, finds herself fighting for her life (and custody of her daughter) when a one sided prenup comes back into the picture. Jen and Eric are in a seemingly loveless marriage, better suited as friends than husband and wife. When Jen's business takes off, she worries that she will lose more than just the company she built. Newly engaged couple Mara and Josh are fighting past mistakes and are unsure if they can move forward as husband and wife.

Kendrick's book is funny, a fast read, and relatively memorable with twists and turns (some predictable, others not so much). The friendship between the three women seems real and genuine.
