While I appreciate a flippant attitude toward the uber-religious, this film is pretty stereotypical and doesn't tread much new territory. Those who resent mega-churches, promise rings and Christian rock will find plenty of self-congratulatory material to revel in.

Still it's probably a great film for adolescents or even younger kids and adults will find it enjoyable. This is very much a typical teen movie, despite its "message" so you can't expect to be be challenged.

This is a sassy, sarcastic look at religion and teenagers. Mary, while trying to “save” her gay boyfriend from the pits of hell, ends up pregnant. Mary attends a very Christian school where her pregnancy will not be accepted. During this trial she learns who her real friends aren’t and makes some new ones too. Super fun movie! Good - Saved! (2004) 92 min. I really liked this film focused on, I presume, Evangelical Christian teenagers trying to cope with a secular world while bringing Jesus to everything that moves. The main character is Mary (played by Jena Malone) who follows her Christian beliefs to the nth degree until Christianity lets her down…or does it? The secular world is well-portrayed by Cassandra, a constant “challenge” to Mandy Moore’s character (Hilary Faye) who follows her everywhere attempting to “save” her. Good natured and well-themed film about religion, faith and perils of taking things too far.
