a Cremer spent her childhood daydreaming while roaming the forests and lakeshores of Northern Wisconsin. She now lives in Minnesota, but she thinks of her homeland as the "Canadian Shield" rather than the Midwest.
Andrea has always loved writing and has never stopped writing, but she only recently plunged into the deep end of the pool that is professional writing. When she's not writing, Andrea teaches history at a very nice liberal arts college in St. Paul.
In the little spare time she can find, Andrea stares up at trees, rescues infant rabbits from predatory cats, and invents names for pug puppies with her husband. She has an unfortunate tendency to spill things—white carpets beware!
Okay, the book was excellent it gave a whole bunch of description and adventure but most of all trust and I have to say that I love this book !
Calla is the leader of the Nighshades, one of the two wolf packs in town. Her destiny has always been to mate with Ren, the leader of the Bane pack, and she has always been preparing for mating.
Ren has always been the carefree one. Though an obvious alpha leader, he bends the rules and doesn't take them so seriously. Calla and Ren have never been close, but knowing the date of their wedding is approaching, they both try and make an effort to get to know one another. They start hanging out after school and realize they have more than just a destiny together or an instant attraction.
Then on a routine patrol on Nightshade territory, Calla saves Shay, the new boy in town, from a bear attack. Calla doesn't know why she broke the rules for him, but she wants to forget it ever happened. Shay isn't ready to let her go; he soon pushes his way in and becomes a big part of her life. He makes her feel things she's never felt before, like she can become someone other than who she is being forced to be.
Now, Calla has her hands full. Does she stay with Ren and learn to love him? Does she risk the loss of her pack and everything she's ever known for Shay? And just who is Shay, and where did he come from?

Add a CommentWerewolves, mysterious prophecies, and high-school romance combine in Vail, Colorado! Fans of young-adult paranormal romances will enjoy all of the blooming teen romances, as well as the unique take on werewolves and their unnerving Keepers, as the protagonist uncovers the truth beneath the rules and restrictions that make up her world. Beware of love triangles if you are not a big fan of those, but look forward to some lovable side-characters whom I hope to see again in the sequels.
I absolutely loved this book so much. The definition of a YA coming of age story but it was still just so good. The cover art was truly what pulled me in. It was just beautiful - I wish the other books in the series continued with the same art instead of going with a new theme.
Cremer definitely used a lot of foreshadowing and if there was anything at all I wish I could have changed it would be a little less foresight in the book. I'm definitely keeping this book on my shelf for years to come.
This is one of the best series I have ever read. I never want to put it down! If definitely keeps you on your toes! I recommend this series for anyone who loves a good fantasy series/book. A lot of the books I read are more of the same things on and on. "He loves her and she loves someone else". But this title was unlike anything I had ever read, which is a very good thing! Andrea Cremer definitely deserves 10 stars *
Great book that you cant put down
