This book delves into the terrible kill shelters, mainly in the South, and what happens to dogs in these shelters. It also tells the happy story of the author's own journey to bring home her adopted dog, Blue. There is a great deal of information for those interested in adopting dogs, some not so happy, but informative information, also. This is not a book that makes you feel guilty if you don't adopt a shelter dog. I do recommend this book because it is informative, interesting, heartwarming and definitely worth the read.
