Grieving deeply for the loss of her father, Riley MacPherson goes to New Bern, North Carolina, to clean out his house and prepare to sell it. When she begins to talk to a few of her father’s friends, Riley begins to question information about her family that doesn’t support what she heard growing up. Did Lisa, her musically gifted older sister, really commit suicide? Why has her father paid a resident of his trailer park a $500 monthly fee? And a concert promotion postcard for a bluegrass band? Her father had been so dedicated to classical music. Conversations and clues lead Riley on a quest to reveal the truth about Lisa, her father, and in the end, herself.
