A somewhat forgotten/overlooked film from the early 90s that reaches back to the paranoid thrillers of the 70s and forward to mess with you head films like "Memento" and "The Matrix." Tim Robbins is a Vietnam vet working as a mailmen who is having some disturbingly convincing flashbacks. Or are they? The film does a good job blurring the line between reality and dream in a way that keeps the audience off guard. It has some similarities to "Flatliners," released the same year, but is far more intense and unsettling. Robbins is good in the lead and the supporting cast includes Elizabeth Pena, Danny Aiello, Ving Rhames, and Jason Alexander. It's something of a departure for director Adrian Lynne, better known for sexy pants movies like "9 1/2 Weeks" and "Indecent Proposal." The title references the Old Testament story.
