CELTIC EMPIRE by Clive & Dirk Cussler is another fun book from the NUMA series. As usual, it starts with historical setting, this one in Egypt, that sets the stage for something happening in modern times. That something is an intentional, man-made eco-disaster that NUMA has to help thwart. It is an interesting ride that included North Africa and extends north to include Scotland and Ireland. And if you are Irish, Skellig Michael plays a prominent role. Unlike diehard historical novelists, Cussler never addresses the degree to which his "historical" background represents known or imaginary events. Usually, I am in it just because his books are fun reads. In this case, I would like to know if there really is a connection between ancient Egypt and early Ireland. On my "to do" list now.
