Heaven and Hell

My Life in the Eagles (1974-2001)

Eagles and classic '70s rock music fans will like this book. A lot of name-dropping from that era's California rock scene. Despite Felder's insider's take on life in the Eagle's fast lane, there's not a lot of earth-shattering revelations. Most already knew about the grotesquely inflated egos (Henley and Fry) fueled by idol-like fan adoration; copious amounts of money; creative differences; chord changes that made the difference between a mega-hit and a throwaway song. Of course, there's the requisite sex and drugs that walk arm-in-arm with rock 'n' roll. Felder's story is almost a morality tale: there's always a price to pay.
