I didn't jump right into this book after I finished Uglies because I wasn't sure if I really wanted to continue on with it. But every time I saw it sitting there I just thought I mine as well read it. I was actually surprised with this sequel. I really wasn't expecting it to be that good but I found myself getting quite attached. We join Tally as a pretty in the sequel, something she's always wanted to be when she was an ugly. But now that she is a pretty, she's not enjoying it as much as she thought she would. Here's what surprised me: You don't hear from David until near the end. But during the main duration of the book, Tally surprisingly gets a boyfriend named Zane, who in my opinion, I like better. In the beginning, I was very weary of him. But I found he's just so much more like Tally I found and the way the author described him, I fell in love with his character. There was a lot more action in this book then I found in the last which I loved. I also liked how we actually got to see how a pretty mind thinks and see their kind of slang with words like; Bogus and bubbly. The ending was great and now I do want to pick up the third and final book. So overall, I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. - @Alicat15 of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
